Maybe it’s the whole lie side of it that’s interesting. There’s no particular motive behind it – I’m not that obsessive. Sometimes something just sticks in my mind after a party, or a night in the pub or something. So I write it down. I think it’s my identification of the stories that makes it so interesting to me – the title I give each one. I never really ever write out the whole story, and I’m sure very often I get the wrong end of the stick and have a completely different idea in my head than is actually the truth, but I guess that’s the point. It’s me remembering other people’s stories.
